About
Charles Bandes is a photographer based in the suburbs of Boston, Massachusetts, with more than thirty years of experience. He holds a BFA in printmaking from RISD, where photography was also a central part of his studies.
Nature is the heart of his work. With wildlife, he looks for each animal's personality and character and works to bring it out in the photograph. Raised around birders, he remains drawn to birds, though he cares more about a compelling, beautiful image than a life list. He also photographs flowers, and he still takes portrait clients from time to time.
More recently he has turned his camera to the night sky. A daily drawing practice keeps him close to his artistic roots and open to a wide range of subjects.
